Fair City Spoilers: What's Coming Up Next in Carrigstown

Fair City is RTÉ's own soap, on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player four nights a week (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), free to watch in Ireland and with no British channel carrying it. This page sums up what RTÉ has said is coming to Carrigstown next, in our own words, and moves the newest night to the top each time a new preview lands.

When are the next Fair City episodes on?

All times are Irish time, taken from RTÉ's own episode previews for each night.

What happens in Fair City on Thursday?

Rafferty still has no idea that his grandson's disappearance was a set-up. According to RTÉ's preview, Ger, who was in on the plan, tries to stop Rafferty going to the guards and warns him that reporting it would bring trouble nobody could undo. RTÉ hasn't said whether Rafferty listens, and we won't guess.

How did the Scout kidnapping storyline start?

James, Rafferty's son, and his wife Hayley faked the kidnapping of their own son Scout, then brought him back, all to squeeze money out of Rafferty. The scheme has been running since mid-September, and the fallout is now spreading beyond the three of them.

On Friday 25 September, Rafferty was already guarding Scout closely when the boy seemed to vanish again during a family gathering at The Station, and the episode ended with Rafferty in a panic ordering a check of the CCTV. Two nights later, on Sunday 27 September, Hayley tried to patch things up with Ger after weeks of bad feeling between them, asking for a fresh start.

What else is going on in Carrigstown?

Away from the Rafferty family, Tuesday 29 September's episode went inside the prison. Tyler complained to officer Dessie about another prisoner handling raw chicken carelessly, Paul, a restaurateur, backed the complaint with his own kitchen experience, and Dessie made it clear to Paul that he was in no position to be giving advice.

Where can I watch Fair City if I miss it?

RTÉ's own previews point viewers to the RTÉ Player, which carries Fair City after each episode airs, free of charge. If you're also following the British soaps, our guide to whether ITVX works in Ireland covers what does and doesn't play here.

If you're in Northern Ireland, Fair City is an RTÉ programme rather than a BBC or ITV one, so check whether RTÉ One is in your provider's line-up.
